Pedestal Blenders
Floor-Mounted Production Blenders — CDM
Overview

The CDM Pedestal Blender is a cGMP tumble blender built on a compact, floor-mounted pedestal. The fixed-height structure provides stable rotation while minimizing footprint and simplifying installation. A direct drive system delivers precise, programmable blend speeds for repeatable batch results.
The 304 stainless steel pedestal fully encloses the motors, gearboxes, and electrical equipment. The pedestal is suitable for through-wall installation, with the blend drive on one side of the wall and vessel access on the other, for cleaner operation. Surfaces are brushed, welds are ground smooth, and the assembly is chemically cleaned and passivated.
A precision-machined 304 stainless steel vessel clamp matches the vessel flange and supports manual or automatic actuation. Standardized flange dimensions allow full vessel interchangeability across V-Shells, Double Cones, Offset Cones, and Bins.
Optional 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, UL 508A certified panels, and batch recording available.

Key Features
Direct Drive Rotation
A TEFC gearmotor with fail-safe brake drives a precision-machined shaft on three industrial-duty bearings, with position encoders for repeatable, programmable blend speeds.
Through-Wall Installation
The floor-mounted pedestal supports through-wall installation: the blend drive sits on one side of the wall and vessel access on the other, keeping the mechanical area out of the cleanroom.
Full Vessel Interchangeability
A custom-machined 304 stainless steel clamp with standardized flange dimensions accepts V-Shells, Double Cones, Offset Cones, and Bins on the same blender.
Intensifier Bar Option
A 316 stainless steel high-speed agitator improves blend uniformity, with a sealed bearing cartridge using FDA-compliant PTFE seals and an externally mounted bearing housing.
Drum Loading Module
Pneumatic cylinders raise and lock a drum over a butterfly valve, then the blender rotates 180° for controlled discharge into the vessel. The module is fully removable.
RFID Vessel Identification
An optional RFID tag reading system auto-populates vessel RPM and compatible intensifier bar options, with a trapped-key manway interlock for safe access.
Applications
- Floor-level blending in facilities where through-wall installation is preferred, with the drive mechanism in a utility corridor and vessel access in the cleanroom
- Pharmaceutical solid dose production
- Nutraceutical manufacturing
- Food production
- Specialty chemical production
