Bin and IBC Lifts
Material Handling Lifts — CDM
Overview

The CDM Bin Lift, also called an IBC Lift, is a sanitary post lift that safely raises and positions intermediate bulk containers for discharge into downstream equipment. The custom IBC cradle accommodates any bin size and secures it for stable operation, while the column lifts the container and slews it over the receiving equipment.
The FIBC Lift applies the same platform to bulk bags and Super Sacks. Its lifting arm is custom-designed to match specific bag dimensions, with four hooks corresponding to the standard lifting loops on the bag. Once secured, the lift raises the FIBC and slews it over the downstream equipment for discharge, then returns to the load position.
Both lifts share a common architecture: a 304 stainless steel column with a brushed finish, a precision ball-screw drive, and Allen-Bradley controls. All motors, gearboxes, and electrical enclosures are housed within the column footprint, and the drive mechanism is separated from the process area.
cGMP construction throughout: welds ground smooth, chemically cleaned, and passivated.

Key Features
Ball-Screw Drive
A precision ball screw paired with a TEFC gearmotor and a fail-safe brake provides controlled lifting, backed by a Safety Ball Nut Clutch that releases on obstruction.
Programmable Rotation
A TEFC gearmotor delivers more than 270 degrees of programmable rotation, so the container can be positioned at custom discharge angles over downstream equipment.
Magnetic Positive Seal Closure
A patent-pending magnetic slot cover seals the column slot to cGMP standards and moves with the carriage, keeping the drive area enclosed.
Centering Bin Nest
The 304 stainless steel nest uses centering pads so bins seat centrally every time, with a low-profile design that allows standard pallet jack loading.
Super Sack Lifting Arm
The FIBC arm is custom-designed with four hooks matching the bag’s standard lifting loops, securing the Super Sack before it is raised and slewed for discharge.
Contained Discharge Option
Provisions for pneumatic discharge valves enable fully contained transfer to tablet presses and encapsulators, with valve actuation from the operator panel.
Options
- Pneumatic discharge valve integration for contained transfer to downstream equipment
- Bin-in-place inductive proximity sensor with motion interlock
- Load cells on the IBC nest for weight feedback, overload protection, and batch dispensing
- Side load bin nest for a reduced room footprint and improved discharge precision
- Stack light with alarm, safety light curtain, and safety laser scanner with three programmable zones
Applications
- IBC and bin discharge into tablet presses and encapsulators
- Post-blender discharge stations and downstream feed
- Bulk bag and Super Sack discharge into hoppers, blenders, and mills
- Bin-filling stations and contained powder transfer
- Tablet and capsule production and sterile manufacturing
- Bulk pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and specialty chemical materials
