Horizontal Paddle and Sterile Dryers — 3V Tech
Overview
3V Tech’s horizontal dryers are horizontal-axis paddle vacuum dryers built around a side-entry heated paddle agitator. The agitator continuously removes product from the walls for improved mixing and easy discharge, while drying under vacuum at design pressures down to -1 barg. The range spans chemical and pharmaceutical applications across a wide volume range.
The family covers three configurations on a common horizontal-axis design. The Chemidry EC is the largest unit at up to 22,000 L for the chemical industry. The Steridry EP adds a movable bottom on hydraulic cylinders for maintenance access at up to 8,000 L, and the Steridry ES uses a hinged side cover for easy internal access at up to 3,500 L. Both Steridry units are offered in chemical and pharmaceutical versions.
All units operate across a design temperature range of -25 °C to +200 °C, with double mechanical seals, a top-mounted dust filter, an actuated bottom discharge valve, and an integrated CIP system. The Steridry EP and ES variants can be specified with a Pack-Off isolator for contained discharge up to OEB5.
Built in 316L stainless steel, Duplex stainless steels, Alloy C22, or Titanium, with other materials available on request.

Key Features
Side-Entry Heated Paddle Agitator
The heated paddle agitator continuously removes product from the walls for improved mixing and easy discharge, with the heating surface extended into the agitator itself.
Vacuum Drying
The vessel is designed for vacuum operation down to -1 barg, supported by a vacuum skid with dry, oil, or liquid-ring pumps and pre and post condensers for condensate recovery.
Movable Bottom Access
The Steridry EP uses hydraulic cylinders to open a movable bottom for maintenance, vessel cleaning, and inspection, secured during production with C-clamps, swing bolts, super clamp, or hydraulic bayonet.
Hinged Side Cover
The Steridry ES provides a hinged side cover for easy access to internal surfaces, minimising product loss and improving cleaning and inspection in multi-product facilities.
OEB5 Pack-Off Containment
The Steridry EP and ES variants accept a Pack-Off isolator for contained product discharge up to OEB5, supporting handling of potent compounds.
Integrated CIP and Filtration
A top-mounted dust filter uses textile synthetic dust bags or metal multilayer cartridges, with a CIP system of dust filter spray balls, nozzles, and discharge valve spray nozzles.
