ChargePoint Launches Actis: A New Category of Aseptic Transfer System

Sterility Assurance Moves Into the Connection

ChargePoint Technology launched Actis on September 15, 2026: a new category of aseptic transfer system built for the EU GMP Annex 1 era. Every aseptic transfer depends on a make-and-break connection, and the outer sealing surfaces of that connection form what ChargePoint calls the ring of concern, a contamination bridge between the outside environment and the sterile zone. Historically that risk has been managed by building infrastructure around the transfer point. Actis takes the opposite approach and builds the assurance into the connection itself.

The system combines three established principles in one unit: the barrier integrity of an isolator, the direct transfer efficiency of a split butterfly valve, and the proven sealing of a rapid transfer port. The critical transfer surfaces sit inside a fully steam-sterilized chamber, and the transfer path bypasses the ring of concern entirely. Only surfaces that have been through a penetrative sterilization process ever meet at the connection. Integrated CIP and SIP run in place, and multiple transfers can follow a single qualified sterilization cycle.

For manufacturers working through Annex 1, the notable claim is how much of the checklist one system carries: closed transfer, reduced manual handling, protection of first air, and penetrative sterilization of product contact surfaces, with secondary sterile boundary interfaces steam-sterilized as well.
