Overview

CDM drum tipper

The CDM Drum Tipper is a stainless steel drum handling device for safe, ergonomic tipping of drums to discharge their contents into downstream equipment such as reactors or blenders. A cradle securely fastens the drum to the tipper, and the unit rotates the drum to empty it through a chute matched to the receiving vessel.

The tipper is offered in pneumatic and electric (plug-in) variants, and in fixed or portable configurations. Custom cradle configurations accommodate multiple drum sizes, and a custom chute and discharge are provided to match the downstream equipment interface.

By raising and rotating the drum mechanically, the tipper puts a margin of safety between the operator and the process. It reduces operator exposure, dust, bending and twisting, and heavy lifting during drum discharge.

Stainless steel construction suits washdown in the process room or transfer to a staged cleaning area.

Key Features

Stainless Steel Construction

Built in stainless steel throughout, suitable for washdown in the process room or transfer to a staged cleaning area.

Secure Cradle Design

The cradle securely fastens drums to the tipper and accommodates multiple drum sizes through custom cradle configurations.

Custom Chute and Discharge

A custom chute and discharge are provided to match the downstream equipment interface, whether feeding a reactor, blender, or other process vessel.

Pneumatic or Electric Drive

Choose a pneumatically operated mechanism running on 90 PSI shop air, or an electric plug-in drive, to match the available utilities at the point of use.

Electric Momentary Operation

On the electric variant, the unit holds position when the operator releases the momentary switch and can index to progressively steeper angles as the drum empties.

Portable Frame Option

The portable configuration rolls on 2 swivel casters with brakes plus 2 rigid casters, and the drum cradle can be positioned on rollers for manual horizontal slide during setup.

Applications

  • Transferring powders or liquids from drums into reactors
  • Charging blenders and other process vessels from drums
  • Reducing operator exposure and dust during drum discharge
  • Reducing bending, twisting, and heavy lifting at the point of use
  • Increasing operator safety in powder and liquid handling areas
