Overview

CDM post blender

The CDM Post Blender is a cGMP tumble blender that combines a lifting column with a blending drive. Vessels are positioned at ergonomic working heights and integrated into upstream and downstream processes, with elevated positioning that allows gravity discharge into tablet presses, encapsulators, or IBCs. It accepts V-Shell, Offset Cone, Double Cone, and Bin vessels on a single platform.

A TEFC gearmotor with fail-safe brake drives the vessel through a precision belt drive, and integrated encoders provide continuous position feedback. The compact blend head fully encloses the motors, gearboxes, and junction boxes for a clean exterior with minimal process-area exposure. A stainless steel blend nest with integrated shot pins deploys automatically as the blend head moves into position, ensuring alignment and reliable engagement.

The lifting column is built on the same 304 SS, ball-screw platform as CDM lifts, with a Safety Ball Nut Clutch and a patent-pending magnetic Positive Seal Closure slot cover. Production blending capacity reaches up to 75 cu ft.

Optional 21 CFR Part 11 compliance adds data logging, archiving, and audit trail with tiered security by user group.

Key Features

Belt-Driven Rotation with Position Feedback

A TEFC gearmotor with fail-safe brake drives the vessel through a precision belt drive, and integrated encoders provide continuous position feedback. The vessel is bolted to or captured by the blend flange.

Compact Enclosed Blend Head

Motors, gearboxes, and junction boxes are fully enclosed for a clean exterior and minimal process-area exposure.

Self-Aligning Blend Nest

A stainless steel nest with integrated shot pins deploys automatically as the blend head moves into position, ensuring alignment and reliable engagement.

Integrated Lifting Column

304 SS ball-screw drive with Safety Ball Nut Clutch and a patent-pending magnetic Positive Seal Closure slot cover, built on the same platform as CDM lifts.

Optional Intensifier Bar

A 316 SS high-speed I-Bar adds agitation for improved blend uniformity, with a sealed bearing cartridge, FDA-compliant PTFE seals, and a low-profile internal hub to minimize product contact.

RFID Vessel Identification

RFID tags on each vessel auto-populate vessel RPM and compatible I-Bar options, then pre-fill I-Bar RPM for the chosen vessel and I-Bar combination.

Applications

  • Powder and granule blending in pharmaceutical production
  • Nutraceutical, food, and specialty chemical blending
  • Gravity discharge into tablet presses and encapsulators
  • Charging IBCs and downstream vessels from elevated positions
  • Drum loading and controlled material discharge into the blend vessel
  • Batch operations requiring recipe control and 21 CFR Part 11 records
