Overview

Russell Compact Sieve on mobile stand

The Russell Compact Sieve is a high-capacity vibratory check screener that removes oversize contamination from powders and liquid slurries. It uses approximately half the headroom of a traditional vibratory sieve, making it straightforward to fit into existing production lines where vertical space is limited.

Available in six diameters from 250 mm to 1,500 mm, the Compact Sieve handles everything from small-batch pharmaceutical powders to high-volume ingredient processing. A side-mounted motor and straight-through flow design deliver higher sieving rates than conventional screeners of the same diameter, while tool-free disassembly keeps changeover times short.

Operating noise as low as 70 dBA. Fully enclosed screening for dust-free operation.

Key Features

Half the Headroom

Less than half the height of a traditional sieving machine. Fits into existing installations and areas with limited overhead clearance.

Higher Throughput

Straight-through flow and high mass casting enable significantly higher sieving rates compared to conventional vibratory screens of the same diameter.

Tool-Free Disassembly

All contact parts strip down without tools. Crevice-free, smooth surfaces reduce cleaning times and support rapid product changeover between batches.

Dust-Free Operation

Fully enclosed screening eliminates powder exposure during operation. Rubber vibration mounts reduce operating noise to as low as 70 dBA.

Validation Support

Complete documentation packages covering DQ, IQ, OQ, and PQ. Mill certificates, FDA approval numbers for non-metallic parts, surface roughness measurements, and as-built drawings included.

Flexible Configuration

Available with ultrasonic mesh deblinding, magnetic separation, gated outlet for flow control, and ATEX-rated motors. Customizable to suit specific applications.

Applications

  • Check screening incoming pharmaceutical ingredients and APIs
  • Safety screening finished powders before packaging or downstream processing
  • Removing oversize contamination from excipients and intermediates
  • Inline quality assurance in continuous and batch manufacturing
  • Screening liquid slurries and suspensions
